As I look out my window
the darkness surrounds me.
Lightning is flashing
her spell.
The birds no longer
chirp and sing.
The rain is blinding
foretell.



The thunder so loud
it brings with it no love.
All of nature is hidden
and yet, the squirrels
try to gather nuts and
the rodents also midden.



The rain is pouring
even harder now.
As I close my shades
I shiver.
I feel as though
I could scream.
As my body seems
to wither.



Nature seems to
have taken over.
As I sit here
and listen to life.
As nature brings on
it's lessons it teaches
us of strife.



But soon the lightning,
rains and thunder
will all be gone.
And once again
beauty will prevail.
As nature brings on her song.



The sun will shine
the birds will sing
to us all again
with their love.
As God has sent His
rainbows to shine
from the heavens above.
